Visual Communication Design can influence behaviour, decision-making and can effect change.

This thesis is an examination of how to build awareness about women’s rights and foster empowerment among young Iranian women through Visual Communication Design.

Five inspirational examples of Iranian women, from different areas of expertise (Literature, Art, Justice, Leadership, and Science) and from different historical periods (over the past 120 years) were selected to serve as the content of the posters. Texts about what these five women have achieved, in spite of all the socio-political and cultural obstacles, limitations, and setbacks were written on the posters in English and Farsi to appeal to both groups of participants.
